PURPOSE: A method for setting a sound system is provided to simplify a system construction for planning economical efficiency and to set the sound system automatically according to the color system of a received broadcasting signal for using conveniently. CONSTITUTION: A method for setting a sound system includes; operating an automatic channel searching after being fed with a key input signal of a user for selecting a channel; tuning the broadcasting signal of a corresponding channel by a channel selecting signal from a controlling unit(26) for transforming to an IF signal and outputting to the IF and a chroma processor(24); and checking the vertical frequency of the received image signal in a color system detecting instrument for supplying an information about the color system to the controlling unit.
