The transmitter arrangement comprises at least one ultrasound generator arrangement (3) for producing an ultrasound beam in a medium (1). The ultrasound generator arrangement comprises at least two separate ultrasound transducers (5) with an acoustic impedance, which are excited by control electrodes (6) to emit ultrasound waves. An ultrasound lens (2) with an acoustic impedance and a sound transmission velocity is arranged between the ultrasound generator arrangement and the medium. The ultrasound generator arrangement is acoustically coupled to a coupling side of the ultrasound lens. The transducer width (b) is not larger than the transducer depth (t). The transducer length (l)is considerably larger than the transducer depth. The ultrasound transducers are arranged side by side in direction of their width, and are associated with a common control element (7).
