PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a retaining ring at a low cost by providing an engagement hole for drawing tool for drawing a long ring piece to be fitted in an annular groove. SOLUTION: Each end of two long ring pieces R1, R2 of three ring pieces are made to abut on each other at a lower part thereof in a horizontal pressure container at a position of an inner wall annular groove provided in an opening end thereof. An abutment part is positioned to one of a pair of helical inserts, and an outer peripheral edge 14 is pushed for fitting in the annular groove provided in the inner wall of the container, and the residual piece R3 is fitted between the other ends of the opening of the two ring pieces so that the outer peripheral edge part is pushed for fitting in the annular groove. A screw hole 2 of the short ring piece R3 coincides with one helical insert forming a pair with the helical insert arranged in a lower part and provided at a symmetrical position in relation to the center of the end plate. The whole of the three pieces fits the outer peripheral edge 14 of one retaining ring in the annular groove for fixation, and has the same effect with the screwing to the helical insert of the end plate from the screw hole 2 part.
