PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a spectroscopic device in which a spectroscope is connected to a Fabry-Perot interferometer in tandem to make measurement over a wide range with such superhigh resolution that a plurality of close peaks can be identified individually and a high optical throughput. SOLUTION: A polychromator provided with a multichannel detector(MCD) is arranged on the exit side of a Fabry-Perot interferometer(FPI) and the output of the MCD is processed by means of a computer. The free spectral area (FSR) of the FPI is set (k) times as wide as the wave number width of one element of the MCD. The computer finds the wave number positionν0 of the peak of the spectrum emitted from the FPI based on the scanning position of the FPI and, in addition, the area S0 of the area connecting the output data (indicated by the black circles in Fig. (b)) from a spectroscope existing in the range of±FSR/2 from the wave number position of the peak as the spectral intensity at the wave number position of the peak.
