A device for heating and/or ventilating the cabin of a car comprises: devices (54-60) to generate flows of cold / cool and warm air; a number of air distribution lines which open out at different points (16-30) of the cabin, comprising a number of heating/ventilation lines plus a defrosting line which opens out into the front region of the dashboard, near the windshield; and a central control unit (14) to distribute the cold and warm air flows selectively in adjustable fashion to the defrosting line and/or the heating/ventilation lines. The heating/ventilation lines each comprise two distinctly separate lines for cold and warm air, each connected with the devices for generating flows of cold or cool or warm air. A number of individual independent control units are provided at different points of the cabin of which each is connected on the input side to the respective distinct line for cold and warm air. Each of the individual control units comprises its own devices for temperature control which are in a position to mix the flows of cold and warm air in adjustable fashion that are delivered from the lines.
