PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the total height of a robot and the conveying height of a work by mounting an output shaft of a motor of an arm driving part and an input shaft of a reduction gear in a state the axes thereof are separated form one another, and stretching a belt between both shafts for driving the reduction gear. SOLUTION: The output shafts of the motors 7, 8 of the left and right arm driving parts and the input shafts of the reduction gears 15, 16 of the left and right arm driving parts are mounted in a state that the axes thereof are separated from one another. The reduction gears 15, 16 are driven by the pulleys 17, 18 and the belts 19, 20, the motors 7, 8 are mounted in a compact cylindrical part 14 of a rotating mechanism part, and the reduction gears 15, 16, the input shafts of the reduction gears, and the pulleys 17, 18 fixed on the input shafts are mounted on a large base part 9. In the quadruple axis horizontal robot, the left and right arms 3, 6 connected to the output shafts of the reduction gears 15, 16 are driven by transmitting the rotation of the motors 7, 8 mounted in the cylindrical part 14 to the reduction gears 15, 16 through the pulleys 17, 18 and the belts 19, 20.
