PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an artificial marble having improved heat resistance without damaging impact resistance, and excellent in appearance characteristics. SOLUTION: This method for producing an artificial marble comprises compounding 180-300 pts.wt. filler having <=0.1 difference of refractive indexes between the filler and the hardened product of a resin composition, with 100 pts.wt. resin composition containing a vinyl ester, a styrene monomer and an acrylic monomer, and hardening the obtained composition. The resin composition is obtained by dissolving the vinyl ester obtained by adding methacrylic acid to a bisphenol-A type epoxy resin, in the styrene monomer, and compounding the acrylic monomer having two or more reactive functional groups with the obtained solution. |
