PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedicle screw simplifying the insertion and fixing of a rod in a pedicle screw head and an assembly aid therefor. SOLUTION: This pedicle screw has a threaded shank and heads formed by two spaced portions. A receiving part for receiving a rod 76 is formed in each spaced portion and thread portions are provided on opposite surfaces. A recess is provided on the outside of each head. An assembly aid 40 has a sleeve 42 enabling a shank 52 to be axially displaced by rotary restraint and two parallel arms 60, 62 disposed at a predetermined distance are provided at the front end of the shank 52. The parallel arms 60, 62 transmit tensile forces to the recesses. An adjustment mechanism for axial relative adjustments is disposed between the sleeve 42 and the shank 52. The shank 52 has an axial passage guiding a relatively thin tool therethrough.
