PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key switch installation structure which can be easily installed without using a tool, and which cannot be removed from the outer side of a game machine board box (a board box) after installation. SOLUTION: In a key switch installation structure in a board box, a drum part of a key switch 1 is formed in such a way as to be inserted into an installation hole bored in part of the board box, and a flange part 16 to be engaged with an edge of this installation hole is formed in a circumferential edge of a front surface of the key switch 1. In addition, a removal-protective elastic stopper 18 is installed on the drum part of the key switch 1, with a tip directed toward the flange part 16 floating from the drum part, and the other end side fixed to the drum part, and a gap of a roughly similar or a little larger width to a plate thickness of the board box is formed between the tip of the elastic stopper 18 and the flange part 16.
