PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rotate a wheel with power of about 1/5 of prior products, allow miniaturization and backing of a device, and produce the device as a kit, in a method for directly driving the wheel. SOLUTION: A motor 1 is mounted to a frame of a bicycle. A gear 7 is mounted to a rim portion of a wheel. A switch 5 is attached to a handle and a wire 6 connects between it and a motor. When the switch is turned on, a pinion gear 8 mounted to the motor rotates. The gear 7 engaging with the pinion gear 8 is rotated to rotate the wheel to progress the bicycle. When a user grabs a brake of the handle, the switch interlockingly turns off to stop the motor 1. When the bicycle inertially progresses even during stopping of the motor 1, function of a one-way clutch 9 races the gear 7.
