PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To upgrade an operability of a sheet binding device for handling a binder in the device for supporting at the time of binding sheets by the binder. SOLUTION: Erected pawls 5 are fixed separately from a body wall surface at a body, and a movable plate 30 is movably engaged with a pin 32 via an L-shaped slot 16d formed at a body bottom 16c and a groove slot 29a of an oblique direction formed at a moving plate 29. Accordingly, a movement of the plate 30 becomes an L-like locus, and even if a binder 2 set to the pawls 5 is not moved, lateral protrusions 8a are automatically advanced to an inside of curl rings 11 to extend the rings 11 to remove its ends from a bar 10, and to direct them upward, thereby easily binding the sheets.
