Marine seismic data is corrected for distortion by the motion of a seismic source by: (1) Separating the seismic data into portions, each portion corresponding to a range of dip angles. (2) Computing Doppler correction filters for each portion. (3) Applying the filters to each portion. An independent claim describes a system for performing the above method.
