PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device in which the device itself performs control so as to automatically rewrite communication speed information corresponding to a connected digital line without making the installing person of a facsimile communication controller perform setting so as to perform execution at an appropriate communication speed. SOLUTION: Inside this facsimile communication controller 100, an F.CODEC 104 is provided. The F.CODEC 104 detects and measures EXCLK from a multiplexer. Then, a connected line speed is automatically recognized and facsimile communication control corresponding to the line speed is performed. Thus, without making the installing person perform an operation, the connected line speed is automatically recognized and sure communication is performed.
