PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the working efficiency of a power unit for vehicle by making the discrepancy of the voltage of a battery between the time, when the voltage becomes the rated voltage of the battery and another time when the electric power from the battery becomes a peak correctable by making the voltage, when the electric power from the battery becomes the peak, to be equal to the rated voltage by bringing the open-terminal voltage of a solar cell device nearer to the rated voltage by adjusting the number of solar cells of the solar cell device. SOLUTION: The power peak of a solar battery device 3 is roughly adjusted to the rated voltage 12 V of a battery 1 by reducing the number of solar cells 2 to 8 (from 12 in the conventional example) and the bringing the opening-terminal voltage of the device 3 closer to the rated voltage of the battery 1 by adjusting the voltage to 17 V (from 23 V in the conventional example). When the voltage of the battery 1 becomes higher (for example, 17 V) than the rated voltage 12 V, therefore the device 3 exhibits effects what can be characterized as being a self-regulator, because the voltage does not reach 17 V and the charging current is suppressed to '0' or close to it. In addition, the working efficiency of the device 3 can be extremely improved, because the working range and power peak of the device 3 substantially match with each other. |
