PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of a casing body capable of sufficiently maintaining the relative position relation of plural components for constituting the casing body and achieving high dimension accuracy and an image reader or an image formation device constituted of the casing body. SOLUTION: The representative constitution of this casing body manufacturing method of the image reader or the image formation device is provided with a reference supporting member for supporting a reference member to be a reference at the time of constituting the casing body of the image reader or the image formation device and supporting members 26a, 26b and 26c for supporting other constituting members for constituting the casing body. The casing body is constituted by joining the reference member and the other constituting members in the state of supporting them in the relative position relation at the time of assembly by using a casing body manufacturing jig 24 for supporting the reference member and the other constituting members by the relative position relation at the time of the assembly.
