PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress such a phenomenon of lowering of display contrast due to a frame response and to provide a liquid crystal display device with a good display quality by utilizing a multi-line simultaneous selection driving method in the case of a simple matrix format. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device having a power source circuit 109 which supplies voltage groups, two electrodes are driven by selecting them from all of scanning electrodes in specified order in a display data control circuit 107. On the other hand, in driving data electrodes, display data successively delivered from top line are rearranged corresponding to specified order, and according to the rearranged display data, the driving is carried out by the result of comparison operation with orthogonal functions generated in a function generating circuit 106.
