<p>A method for stabilizing and draining of sodden earth dams, and dams made of various heaped materials has tubes with tipped end driven into the dam from the land side. The pipes can be positioned at different angles and with the tips at different height. The pipes can be withdrawn after drainage pipes have been inserted, while the tips can remain in the dam. The pipes are either driven into the dam or are screwed in. The drainage system lowers the water table inside the dam and reduces the hydraulic pressure at the rear of the dam.</p> |
