A permanent magnet (2) is fastened on a first flux-conducting element (4) extending over a ring segment with respect to an axis of rotation of the sensor. The north-south direction of the magnet is aligned perpendicular to the axis of rotation. A second flux-conducting element (6) extends over a ring segment rotating about the axis of rotation relative to the first flux-conducting element. A primary air gap (8) lies between the two flux-conducting elements. The second flux-conducting element has a secondary air gap (9) extending radially in which a magnetic field sensor (11) is arranged. The length of the magnet perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the sensor and perpendicular to the north-south direction of the magnet is smaller than the circumference of the primary air gap.
