PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain vending machine coping with electronic money in which a saved space can be maintained and the convenience of a user can be improved by providing an insertion port for accepting plural portable electronic devices whose the size is different and a holding means for holding the inserted portable electronic device. SOLUTION: A vending machine 2 is provided with a card reader/writer 1 for recording reproducing information for an IC card for storing electronic money, a merchandise display window 21, a merchandise selection button 22 and a merchandise discharge port 23. This card reader/writer 1 can be used by inserting a non-contact type IC card as it is and also by inserting a portable terminal into which the IC card is inserted as it it. That is, this device is provided with an insertion port into which the both of the IC card and the portable terminal for storing the IC card can be inserted and an antenna for communicating with the IC card which is positioned in parallel with an antenna embedded in the outer peripheral part of the IC card. |
