In the region of the connecting faces between the fixing points(4) a narrow gap is maintained between the sheet metal parts(1,2). Next, the prefixed parts, at least by their connecting faces, are dipped in a temperature controlled adhesive bath. The viscosity of the liquid adhesive is determined by the depth of the gap so that the adhesive during the dipping process runs flat into the gap between the parts to form a continuous adhesive film which is then hardened. Zinc particles or short fibres may be mixed in with the adhesive substance.
