Use of polyisobutylene for the disposal of contaminated solids and dusts

Polyisobutylene and blends of polyisobutylene and at least one thermoplastic compatible therewith are highly suitable for the disposal of pollutant-containing solids and/or dusts. For this purpose, the solids and dusts in question are mixed with polyisobutylene or the blends, after which the resultant mixtures are advantageously further converted into granules or mouldings. Both the mixtures and the granules and mouldings are water-resistant, so that they can be ultimately landfilled without reservations.
