APPARATUS FOR REDUCING VOLUME OF ORGANIC WASTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently reduce the vol. of org. matter without generating a malodor when org. waste is fermented and decomposed by microorganisms. SOLUTION: In an apparatus for reducing the vol. of org. waste by fermenting and decomposing the org. waste in the upwardly opened fermentation tank arranged in a building, a space is formed between the inner wall surface of the building and the fermentation tank and the ceiling surface in the building is formed into an inclined structure so that moisture evaporated from the surface of the upwardly opened fermentation tank does not flow in the fermentation tank as condensed water and the moisture bonded to the ceiling surface in the building is allowed to flow along the ceiling surface and wall surface to be allowed to fall in the space between the inner wall surface of the building and the fermentation tank to be recovered.
