PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil improvement body having a large area for ground surface portion and a large contact area with soil underground. SOLUTION: This is a soil improvement body 11 solidified by mixing and agitating together the excavated soil and solidifying agent. Then, the body has the smallest diameter at the lowest end surface 13 with several stepped concentric portions. According to this soil improvement body 11, if it is compared to a columnar soil stabilized body having a constant diameter and the same volume and the same height, an area of the top end surface 12 at the ground surface side can be made larger, a contact surface at the upper end surface 12 at the ground surface side can be increased, and a contact surface with soil J underground, that is, the surface area except the area at ground surface side of the soil improvement body 11 can be made larger so that its bearing force can be increased.
