PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the strength of shear force applied to agitated liquid and a flow pattern freely by installing an agitation blade for forming a horizontal flow and a roof in which baffles are suspended/fixed from/to the lower surface so that the vertical space between them can be adjusted. SOLUTION: When a rotary shaft 2a is rotated, agitated liquid B in the lower part of an agitation tank 1 is pushed outward and diagonally upward by an agitation blade 2b and ascends spirally along the inner wall of the tank 1. The ascending flow is cut off by a roof 3, is collected near the central part by baffles 4, descends, and is agitated again by the blade 2b. The baffles 4 suspended/fixed from/to lower surface of the roof 3, which are straight line- shaped plate blades, are arranged radially to be in discord with the center. By changing the positions of the blade 2b and the roof 3 in the tank 1, the strength of shear force applied to the liquid B and a flow pattern are controlled.
