PURPOSE: A method and apparatus are provided to transmit and receive data in precise timing of specification for wireless LAN by hardware. CONSTITUTION: The wireless LAN apparatus comprises an interface(3), a memory(15), a first DMA controller(5), a central processing unit(4), a modulator/demodulator(12), a wireless transmitting/ receiving module(14) and a second DMA controller(13). The memory(15) stores a control program and data. The first DMA controller(5) outputs a control signal to transmit and receive corresponding frame according to an address of linked list. According to a frame exchange sequence, the central processing unit(4) generates each frame list and a frame linked list, stores them at the memory(15), and stores the first address of frame linked list at the first DMA controller(5). The modulator/ demodulator(12) modulates the output signal from the first DMA controller(5), demodulates received signal, and transmits the demodulated signal to the first DMA controller(5). The wireless transmitting/receiving module(14) converts the output signal of the modulator/demodulator(12) into a wireless signal, transmits the wireless signal, and converts received signal into a digital signal. The second DMA controller(13) stores the output signal of modulator/demodulator(12) at the memory(15).
