PURPOSE: A process for producing alkylglycoside (APG) is provided which improves chromaticity and transparency of APG. CONSTITUTION: The neutralization of the process comprises the following steps of reaction, neutralization, distill, dilution and decoloration, and it is characterized by using an alkali metal oxide, which has much developed specific surface area ( at least 30 m¬2/g), as a neutralizing agent; storing the neutralizing agent not to absorb moisture; adding the exact amount to neutralize by measuring the specific surface area of the neutralizing agent just before use; keeping the moisture content of reactant not more than 1000 ppm, preferably 500 ppm as neutralizing under atmosphere or vacuum condition.
