PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily move and install a transmission type screen device and to hardly exert the influence of external light on the device by constituting the device so as to be set in a state where a screen is wound and a state where the screen is unwound to be spread. SOLUTION: A projector main body 10 projects an optical image projected from a projection lens 11 to the transmission type screen 20 facing in front. In the transmission type screen device 200 having the screen 20, the screen 20 can be spread right and left and wound up in the spread state, and housing parts 21 and 22 are respectively provided on the right and left side. Since the screen 20 is of transmission type, the device 200 has a merit that the influence of the external light is hardly exerted to the back projection system. As the screen 20 can be wound up, the device 200 is excellent in portability, so that it can be held in a hand and brought anywhere and a large screen video display can be executed at any place user wants with convenience and excellent operability.
