The protective antenna may be mounted on the outside of the mobile phone, or inside its casing. It consists of a wire loop bent into a figure-of-eight shape with the wire insulated where it crosses itself (2,5). The two halves of the eight may be circular shapes or squares with one corner touching to make a double diamond shape. The top loop (1,4) is in phase with the transmitting and receiving antenna and the bottom half (3,6) is in antiphase.
