PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photographic material excellent in handleability and preservability before and after image formation and giving an image having high image quality and a cold black tone. SOLUTION: This heat developable photographic material has an org. silver salt, a reducing agent, at least one compd. represented by formula I and at least one compd. represented by formula II on a substrate. In the formula I, R1-R4 are each H or a monovalent substituent but all of R1-R4 are not H, L1 and L2 are each a combining group and n1 and n2 are each an integer of 0-3 but the both of n1 and n2 are not 0. In the formula II, Q is a group of atoms required to form a phthalazine ring, V is a monovalent substituent and n3 is an integer of 0-6.
