Pipeline pig detection device e.g. for cleaning pig

The pig detection device uses a pig detector provided by a roller with its surface projecting into the interior of the pipeline, so that the roller is rotated by the passage of the pig used for cleaning the pipeline, the rotation indicated by a rotation source (16), e.g. an absolute angle coder. An Independent claim for a method for detecting a pig in a pipeline is also included.
