Fairing for the rear part of pylon for a jet engine with a lobe mixer

The engine has an annular housing (3) separating an outer flow (4) of cold gases from an inner flow (5) of hot gases from the engine turbine. A lobed mixer (9) is situated coaxially with the hot gas flow at the outlet end of the housing to promote the mixing of the hot and cold gas flows. The engine is supported by a pylon (2) connected to the housing (3). The mixer comprises a series of alternating outer and inner lobes, with an enlarged lobe (15) in the region of the pylon, and an obstacle (17) in the gas flow immediately after it. The obstacle is in the form of a streamlined body fixed to the pylon after the mixer. It can form part of the pylon which is integral with the enlarged lobe.
