PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for slicing ham or the like capable of attaining cost reduction by dispensing with a products receiving device which was needed conventionally for laminating sliced ham or the like. SOLUTION: This slicing device is provided with a cutter 12 rotating in the orthogonal direction to a log at the lower end of the log 11, a variable speed motor M conducting rotational-driving of the cutter, a counter counting the number of rotations of the cutter in crossing the log, and a carrying-out conveyer 17 disposed below the cutter. When the counter counts the prescribed number, feed belts 4a, 4b are conveyed upward by an equivalent amount to one slice of ham or the like by reversing the rotational direction of the first servomotor. The cutter 12 is subjected to at least one idle rotation at its crossing position with the log, and during the idle rotation, the carrying-out conveyer 17 is driven by a prescribed distance. The laminated sliced ham or the like is carried out to a prescribed position, and the first servomotor is then rotated normally again.
