PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet stacking device capable of stacking a bunch of sheets at a high speed corresponding to the operating speed of an adjuster. SOLUTION: A bunch of sheets adjusted by an adjuster 1 is carried from a discharge part 11 to a carrying passage 23 in a sheet stacking device 20. The sheet stacking device 20 includes a first carrying passage 24, a first sorting mechanism 40 for stacking the bunch of sheets with the ends alternately offset, a first sheet stacking part 21, a second carrying passage 25, a second sorting mechanism 60 and a second sheet stacking part 22. A switching gate 26 sets the carrying passage for the bunch of sheets to be the first carrying passage 24 or the second carrying passage 25 to carry the bunch of sheets into the first sheet stacking part 21 and the second sheet stacking part 22 in an alternate fashion and stack the bunch of sheets with the ends alternately offset at the first and second sheet stacking parts 21, 22. |
