PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the cutting of noodle absolutely without using manual work and improve the efficiency of the cutting work by hanging a number of noodle strings on a noodle hanging rod in vertical state, or the like, cutting the strings under a specific condition and holding the cut strings in a receiving part. SOLUTION: A number of noodle strings are hung on a noodle hanging rod 8 in vertical or slightly inclined state, intermittently lowered with prescribed intervals together with the hanging rod 8 and cut to a prescribed length at the stop timing in the intermittent lowering operation with a cutting mechanism 3 placed at a prescribed part under the hanging position. The cut noodle strings are dropped by the own weight and received in a receiving part 4. Preferably, after receiving the cut noodle strings spontaneously dropped into the receiving part 4, the residual noodle strings having insufficient length and connected in the form of U are recovered together with the noodle-hanging rod 8 in a part other than the receiving part 4.
