The timer programming mechanism (12) includes at least one non-contact component (16) for controlling the timer from the outside of the detonator casing. A detonator for use underwater comprises a watertight casing, a timer (11), a timer programming mechanism, an ignition unit (13), a power source (14) functionally coupled to at least one ignition unit, and a coupling (15) for connecting the detonator to the explosive capsule. At least the timer and its programming mechanism are mounted inside the casing. The timer programming mechanism includes at least one non-contact component for controlling the timer from the outside of the casing. |
