PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection timing control device for direct inject type diesel engine, which can maintain the proper fuel injection timing at all times using a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The fuel injection timing Ti is calculated and set by a fuel injection timing setting means 22 on the basis of the target ignition timing TBt set by a target ignition timing setting means 20, the discharge pressure Pi of the fuel injected from an injection valve, and the shortest distance Lc of the injected fuel till reaching the wall surface of a combustion chamber formed into a recess on the oversurface of a piston.
