PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the generation of linear unevenness by injecting molten Fe-Ni base alloy having a specific composition into a continuous casting mold, casting into a slab without applying electromagnetic stirring to obtain the slab having a specific ratio or less of Ni concn. variation and hot-rolling after heating and holding this slab in the specific temp. range for a specific time or more. SOLUTION: The molten Fe-Ni base alloy containing 10-45 wt.% Ni is injected into the continuous casting mold and cast into the slab without applying the electromagnetic stirring to obtain the slab having <=0.3 wt.% Ni concn. variation, and after heating and holding the slab at 1,280-1,350 deg.C for >=30 min previous to the hot-rolling, the hot-rolling is executed. The segregation is eliminated by executing a homogenizing treatment of heating and holding the slab at 1,280-1,350 deg.C for >=30 min. In this result, at the time of etching for boring many electronic beam passing through-holes, the generation of the linear unevenness is effectively restrained, and a base stock for shadow mask used for a Braun tube suitable to the high precise, high brightened and large-scaled one, is obtd.
