PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly fasten a work nipped by ball bodies even when vibration and an impact are exerted. SOLUTION: This fastening mechanism comprises a fastening mechanism 3; and an operation mechanism 4. A first bearing ring 61 arranged at the end part of the fastening mechanism 3 and a second bearing ring 62 positioned at the internal part of a casing 51 are positioned facing each other at the internal part of the casing 51 arranged at the end part of the fastening mechanism 3. The first bearing ring 61 is energized toward the second bearing ring 62 and an opposite distance between the first and second bearing rings 61 and 62 is decreased in width from a central position toward an outer peripheral edge and a plurality of ball bodies 65 are interposed therebetween. A track shaft 43 arranged at the end part of the operation mechanism 4 is positioned at the internal part of an opposite distance 64 between the first and second bearing rings 61 and 62. Through operation of the operation mechanism 4, the track shaft 43 is moved to roll the ball bodies 65. Through rolling of the ball bodies 65, the opposite distance 64 between the first and second bearing rings 61 and 62 is controlled. Through control of the first bearing ring 61, a work is fastened and unfastened by the fastening mechanism 3.
