PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a scanner motor so as to align the phase of a main scanning synchronous signal with that of a sub-scanning synchronous signal before the start of latent image formation in a sub-scanning direction without changing the speed of a scanner motor suddenly with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A CPU 21 and a target BD signal generating means inside a scanner motor control circuit 400 correct the target signal of the main scanning synchronous signal for controlling the speed of the scanner motor 8 driving a rotating polygon body stepwise based on the phase difference between the sub-scanning synchronous signal (TOP signal) which is generated by a top signal producing means 22 next and whose rotating cycle is equal to that of an intermediate transfer drum inside a section where a latent image is not formed in a photoreceptor drum sub-scanning direction and a main scanning synchronous signal (BD signal) generated by a beam detecting signal generating circuit 200. |
