PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-pollution driving gear which has the monorail car of a compact body size, and consumes less energy. SOLUTION: An engine and electrical parts including a generator 6 and batteries 11 are mounted on a motive power unit 5 to transmit power to the pinion wheels 10, 20 provided at the bottom part of the motive power unit via an electric motor 8. Also, a device is provided for storing into batteries 11 the regenerative power which the electric motor generates when going downhill. This structure enables the regenerative current of the electric motor to be detected, and if it exceeds a certain level, the power generation by the generator 6 is stopped to change over the power sources to the batteries. |
