<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain random access and edit in the unit of group of picture GOP and to ensure synchronization between audio data and video data. SOLUTION: In this multiplexing method, audio coded data and video coded data of pluralities of GOPs are assembled into packets and a packet header is added to each packet. The packet header has information of its packet, an audio start position, an audio start time, a video start position and a video start time for each GOP. In the case of conducting random access, the start position and the start time for each GOP are used to attain high speed random access and accurate audio video synchronization.</p> |
