PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image defect caused by the entrainment of air and the intrusion of dust into a space between a coating body and a conductive supporting body in the case of production by forming many recessed parts on one part or all of the surface of a cylindrical supporting body. SOLUTION: This transfer drum 10 for electrostatic recording process is fundamentally constituted of the conductive and rigid cylindrical supporting body 11 and the coating body 12 with which the outer periphery of the supporting body 11 is coated. Many recessed parts 13 are formed on almost all the surface of the peripheral surface of the supporting body 11. The recessed parts 13 are formed in a groove state or a dot state. It is desirable that the thickness of the coating body 12 is 25 to 1,000μm and the volume resistivity thereof os 1×10<3> to 1×10<15>Ω.cm, and further it is desirable to constitute the coating body 12 of a seamless belt made of synthetic resin in which conductive powder is blended or thermoplastic elastomer.
