PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an article which has a matte tone with high-grade texture and is free from defects in practical use by dispersing a synthetic resin bead in an opaque synthetic resin which constitutes the matrix of the article. SOLUTION: An article cap A is composed of an opaque black polystyrene resin 1 which constitutes the matrix of the article and a poly(methyl methacrylate) resin (bead) 2 dispersed therein. A perfectly spherical shape of the bead 2 is preferable to bring about a smooth surface of an article having a matte tone and pleasant touch. The article having the matte tone is prepared by mixing, with the synthetic resin constituting the matrix of the article, a synthetic resin bead having a higher melting point than the synthetic resin and injection molding the resultant mixture at a temperature between the melting point of the matrix synthetic resin and the melting point of the synthetic resin bead. The synthetic resin bead is colored and can be transparent or opaque. The particle size of the bead is desirably not larger than 50μm. The amount of the bead admixed is desirably 5-50 wt.% of the total amount.
