PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent cavitation in a casing for a cam plate type piston pump and provide sufficient performance for the pump. SOLUTION: A boost passage 70 axially passing through a cylinder block 2 is provided in the cylinder block 2. The boost passage 70 is formed with a suction port 71 located radially insideαdischarge port 72. Operating oil flowing into the boost passage 70 is subjected to pressure by centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the cylinder block 2. The operating oil under pressure is supplied to a piston operating space 90 in the casing to apply pressure in the casing.
