<p>The present invention pertains to the field of metallurgy and more precisely relates to combined methods for continuously casting slabs and for continuously rolling the same. The method for producing a hoop in a combined casting and rolling apparatus involves continuously casting a bar slab while maintaining a constant level of metal in the crystalliser, heating of the slab induction and rolling said slab. The continuous casting and the rolling of the slab are carried out according to a continuous process. During the initial step of the process, the metal is maintained at a constant level in the crystalliser by controlling the speed of the draw rolls of the slab continuous-casting machine. At the beginning of the rolling process, the function of the draw rolls for maintaining a constant level of metal in the crystalliser is transferred to a first cage of the rolling mill. Before the rolling process, the induction heating of the slab is carried out in two groups of inductors operating under two currents. The inductors and the rolling mill are arranged in the same production line as the crystalliser. The drivers of the machine draw rolls and the driver of the first cage of the rolling mill are connected through a switch to an electric signaling system that comprises a sensor for detecting the level of metal in the crystalliser. The inductors are arranged in two groups, wherein the first group of inductors, due to the feed-forward conditions, has a nominal, constant and non-adjustable power, while the second group has an adjustable power. This invention can be used for reducing the surface area occupied by the facilities and for improving the distribution economic factors.</p> |
