<p>A method and device for verifying the integrity of a luggage item from embarkation to disembarkation. The method consists in allocating a specific chip card (2) to the luggage item (1), whereby said luggage item (1) acts as a support for the chip card (2), in addition to making the luggage item go through a device that creates a signature (3) for said luggage item at check-in and/or after said luggage item is x-rayed. The luggage item is also made to go through a device that checks the signature of the luggage item and re-checks each item of luggage (1), whereby a comparison is made, revealing at least one modification of one of the physical security precautions pertaining to the signature of the luggage item (1) with respect to the first signature, for redirection to a security service via another channel. The invention can be used for luggage items and/or people in airports in particular.</p> |
