PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow molded object made of a synthetic resin excellent in heat deformation resistance and mechanical strength and a method for producing the hollow molded object by blow molding. SOLUTION: A hollow molded object 1 made of a synthetic resin comprises a thermoplastic resin compsn. containing 1-40 wt.% liquid crystal resin and the liquid crystal resin is dispersed in a thermoplastic resin in a fibrillated state and the fibrils of the liquid crystal resin are substantially oriented in the peripheral direction A along the peripheral surface 2 of the hollow molded object 1. The hollow molded object 1 can be produced by mixing the liquid crystal resin and the thermoplastic resin having an m.p. or melting temp. lower than the liquid crystal transition point of the liquid crystal resin in an extruder in a molten state and rotating a part of a resin flow channel part centering around the rotary axis extending in the same direction as the flow direction of the resin to extrude a parison wherein the fibrils of the liquid crystal resin are oriented in the rotary direction and performing the blow molding of the parison.
