Mechanically operated disc brake - has automatic brake pad wear compensation via release limiters

Brake pads are arranged at either side of the brake disc. One brake pad is mounted on a lever which in turn is attached to an operating lever. The second brake pad is also mounted on a lever which is connected by a rod to the brake operating lever. An automatic limiting arrangement for the angular movement during brake release is mounted on each of the pivoting axes of the brake pad levers. These limiting arrangements operate during the first phase of the brake release movement and automatically adjust the mechanism for brake pad wear. The connecting rod between the two brake pad levers is provided with an arrangement which automatically takes up the reduction in operating which pulls the two levers together after they have been stopped by the angular movement limiters.
