Cutting system for wooden beams and boards

A drive system for workpieces through a sawmill or other preparation for beams and boards uses driven rollers to grip and move the workpieces. The roller drive can be enhanced by endless belts (27) slung over sets of rollers. The roller speed each side of a processing station eg. saw blade, is maintained identical to provide continuity of movement and ensure accurate positioning of each workpiece. The belt drive is measured by monitors (26) which regulate the drive speeds.
