The method involves generating a time slot allocation table in a first transmission unit. The time slots are set which are used for the transmission of circuit switched traffic. A message is sent from the first transceiver to a second transceiver, with the time slot allocation defined by the first transceiver. A second time slot allocation table is generated in the second transceiver, based on the received message. An acknowledgement is sent from the first transceiver to the second transceiver. The first time slot allocation table is activated in the first transceiver, in response of receiving the acknowledgement. Pulse frames are generated corresponding to the time slot allocation within the first receiver, and a table indicator is set in the pulse frames sent by the first transceiver. The second transceiver recognises the activation of the first time slot allocation table, for the time slot allocation by the indicator. The second time slot allocation table is activated in the second transceiver, as soon as the table indicator is recognised. Received pulse frames in the second transceiver are evaluated according to the second time slot allocation table, until information for deactivation of the second time slot allocation table is received by the first transceiver, and the deactivation of the table in the second transceiver is carried out.
